The 7th international conference on Social Life Cycle Assessment was held online from June 14 to 17, 2020. In total, 61 contributions from researchers have been accepted. The conference was co-arranged by KTH (Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm) and Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg, and it was hosted by the Swedish Life Cycle Center. The mission of the Center is to work for the integration of the life cycle perspective into processes and decision making in industry, government policy and other parts of society, developing products and services with increased resource efficiency that enhances sustainable consumption and production patterns. This should open up possibilities of working towards a more circular economy and meet common sustainability challenges and sustainable development goals. With this year’s conference theme Impacts – Interests – Interactions, the organisers wanted to acknowledge that social life cycle studies have diverse methods, are conducted in different contexts and with different effects.
The award for the best conference contribution in the category "digital appearance" at the 7th international Social Life Cycle Assessment conference 2020 was given to CD-Lab researcher Magdalena Rusch. She contributed to the conference with a submission and presentation about Social Life Cycle Assessment in a Circular Economy - A mixed method analysis of 97 SLCA publications and its CE connections.
