Welcome Antonia and Martin

Since January 2022, we have welcomed Antonia Pohlmann and Martin Popowicz as PhD students in the team!

Antonia and Martin will focus their PhD on the concept development for a Digital Product Passport for concrete use cases in the automotive industry in the next few years. They are part of the project "CE-PASS", a project for promoting circular economy and sustainably optimized supply chains in the automotive industry, which is carried out by the University of Graz in cooperation with AVL List GmbH, Salzburg Research Forschungsgesellschaft mbH as well as iPoint-systems GmbH.

Antonia, born in Hamburg, completed her master's degree in Sustainable Development at the University of Graz last year. During her master studies and various internships, Antonia already gained sound theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field of sustainability - also with a focus on the circular economy, innovation, and sustainability assessment. In addition, she wrote her master's thesis in cooperation with the SIS Institute, developing recommendations for action to increase sustainability performance in the logistics sector. In her private life, Antonia enjoys playing music (bassoon, violin, and piano), theatre and sports - for example kickboxing or salsa dancing.

Martin studied Environmental Systems Science and dedicated his master thesis to the topic of Circular Economy in the Austrian plastics sector. In parallel, he completed a master's degree in business administration with a focus on business analytics. Due to his interest in digitalization and sustainable development and the possibility to combine his two majors, a PhD in the course of the CE-PASS project represented the best opportunity for his further career path. In his private life, Martin loves to travel and do any kind of sports, such as scuba diving, paragliding, ski touring or running.
