Severin's PhD research will focus on how machine learning can be used to protect sensitive data in life cycle analyses to enable widespread adoption.
Severin has an Environmental Systems Science - Economics degree. He conducted his master's thesis as part of the Atmospheric Remote Sensing and Climate System Research Group at the Wegener Center, University of Graz. In this context, he worked on quality improvement of WegenerNet precipitation data and on precipitation extremes.
He is interested in the application of data science and modeling methods in any context that contributes to the path toward a carbon-neutral economy. He hopes to contribute to this goal as part of the CD-Lab and its research in collaboration with the Know Center. In addition, Severin enjoys traveling, the outdoors, surfing, splitboarding, and sailing in his free time.
